Who We Are PLAYtarium is a not for profit organisation, run by a voluntary management committee, providing out of school childcare to the local community in Luton and surrounding areas. We first opened in 2000 with an open access Holiday Club based at Hillborough Junior school catering for 4-12 year old children, and have since then entertained hundreds of children.
Now, we have grown and have Out of School clubs at Sacred Heart Primary School and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School! PLAYtarium's main concern is children's happiness and focuses on free play whilst offering a variety of optional activities and trips so you child can choose exactly how they want to spend their free time! Our enthusiastic and friendly staff endeavour to provide a stimulating, fun environment for children to enjoy and challenge themselves and to relax at their own leisure. |
Why We're DifferentPlay is at the heart of everything we do, because play is SO important to a child's development! Play helps children to develop physically, gain social skills, learn about the world around them, and learn about risks and how to approach and manage these risks for themselves.
We strongly believe in a child's choice to play freely, so although we run activities, your child wont have to join in anything they don't want to! We offer these activities so your child have the opportunity to try something new and exciting and to develop their skills, but only if they want to. Your child will be able to enjoy their free time how they choose to and at their own pace. To find our more about the Playwork Principles and why they are so important to our practice click here. |
Staff At PLAYtarium your children will be looked after by enthusiastic and experienced staff. Everyone employed receives an enhanced-DBS clearance and is reference-checked. We encourage our excellent staff to return for future seasons and many do, offering their valuable experience as well as a familiar face to returning children.
Each setting has a Manager who co-ordinate and manage their team whilst ensuring the smooth running and activities at their setting are fun and exciting. There will always be at least one qualified first-aider at each venue. The Manager will be contactable throughout the session times if you need to change your pick-up plans or if you want to check that your child has settled in. |
