In the February half term, PLAYtarium went to see the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre! Fifty children came for the trip, which included a drama workshop led by two professional actors, and of course the amazing Lion King performance - which thanks to our funding from the Big Lottery, was free! The children really enjoyed the workshop, where they learned how to act like the kind of animals from the Lion King, such as cheetahs, giraffes, warthogs and elephants. The kids loved acting like wild animals! But the highlight of the day was, of course, the Lion King performance. The show was absolutely fantastic, and was an amazing experience for all the kids (and the staff too!). We can only hope that we’ll be able to offer such an amazing trip again in the future.

The Lion King is arguably one of the best films that Disney studios had ever produced. I think it is safe to say that a lot of us have watched the film for at least two times. The movie was marvelously well written. It contained a lot of elements that made it a truly great film. I honestly believe that it is one of the movies that make you rethink about your life and how you are living in the present.
